It is May of 1946 and Timmy Cleary has come home from the war to his estranged parents, John and Nettie, in the Bronx apartment where he grew up. He is joyously welcomed at first, but soon past conflicts resurface as the three try to navigate through the consequences of overwhelming marital strife. As time goes by, Timmy finally understands the family dynamics
that shaped his life. Frank Gilroy's humorous and poignant drama won the Pulitzer Prize, the Tony Award and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play.
